Actual Customer Reviews:
This was a gift to myself – I have lost 19 lbs. and feel much better each day. I have added resistance that I didn’t think I would ever use because I never exercised much before. It has helped build up my confidence in myself. I look and feel better, healthier and more relaxed. My stress level is reduced. My only regret is that I wish I had purchased this Bowflex sooner.
I purchased the Revolution back in May 2005. I still use the Revolution on a weekly basis. It’s taking quite a beating over the years with moving and storage(due to moving out of my home back in 2008 and storing it for about 4 months). Over the course of the years, I have had to replace the cables for the leg press and the free moving arms. They just simply wore out over the continuous use. Just recently in the past 4 months, I had to get replacement resistance packs sent to me. The band inside the packs busted and Bowflex was quick to send me the replacement packs. I have been extremely pleased with the Revolution. The results have been incredible and I can truly say that the machine works. It does take some effort and adjustment from free weights. Some of the exercises do require some set up, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. I would highly recommend this machine.
I’m 48 years old and have spent many years around free weights, Nautilus (or similar), and “Universal” weight stack gyms.
The Bowflex quality, and stability are superior from most aspects. One small observation is that the guide wheels take some time to align with the chosen movement. As such, they tend to be noisey for the first set. Changing the “weights” / resistance discs is similar to free weights in that individual disks must be added, nad removed. Their extremely light weight is a plus; a far cry from adding a 45lb. plate on an olympic bar!
My daughter is a competitive swimmer. I’m so comfident in the safety of this equipment, I’m encouraging her to incorporate this into her training routine.
Similarly, my wife uses it on a somewhat casual basis; but at least she uses it! After getting used to the many arm positions, and comfortable weight levels, she has established her own routines.
One last word of advise. I’m an engineer, and have lifted weights my entire life. Set-up was a breeze.
If you are neither of the above, you may want to consider the home installation/ technical service option. The boxes are quite large, and heavy.
